Mike and I celebrated six years of marriage yesterday. Mike had our whole day planned out so first we drove to San Simeon on the coast to check out Hearst Castle. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and it was absolutely gorgeous. William Randolph Hearst built a castle that was very heavily influenced by Eurepean architecture. The tour was phenomenal. Then, we took a scenic drive to the beach. Later, we saw a Bubble Gum Alley in San Luis Obispo. That's right, an entire alley filled with chewing gum on the walls. And finally, we ate dinner at a place called Apple Valley.
One of the pools. It was 10 feet deep all over and had 24-karat gold tiles lining the walls and bottom of the pool. There was a tennis court on top of it.
Our favorite part of the tour...the Neptune Pool. Here the marble statues are depticting the birth of Venus the Goddess of Love.
