Packing Pains...Literally

So, if I were to make a list of things I absolutely abhor or hate to do, packing would be one of them. Finding a job would be another one. Anyway, I started packing this weekend and because I got a little overzealous about getting out of Fresno my toe suffered. The bookshelf decided to slide out and land on my big toe. It took me down like a little girl. The pics look pretty weak but I am telling you it hurt like a banshee.

The culprit.
My big toe. Mike says my toe looks like a block because it is swollen. You always wanted a sweet view of my foot, right.

Happy Valentine's Day

Look who showed up in Fresno...Brad and Jordan. They were supposed to be moving Jeanette's stuff to Sacramento but Mel just called and said she wasn't ready to move. Ha! Oh well, we still got to party with them. So, on our Valentine's Day we went to the Nickelcade, went to a glow-in-the-dark putt putt golfing course and watched the movie Taken.

Valentine Barbershop Quartet

So I took my camera to work on Friday because I heard that my coworkers wife had planned a Barbershop Quartet surprise for him. It was pretty funny. Check it out.

Celebrating 30 Years

I finally hit the big 30 yesterday. Wanted to thank everyone for making it so special and for giving me shout outs throughout the day and espically to...
  • Mikey - for decorating the bathroom and filling it up with 30 balloons, taking me to the Olive Garden and getting me Mamma Mia, a book and Prince of Persia (video game).
  • Karen & Gavinator - for being the first to call and wish me Happy Birthday.
  • Nick (Pickle) - for calling me twice in the same day to wish me a great day
  • Work Friends - for giving me a Game Stop gift certificate (do they know me or what) and someone even folded up a $5.00 bill (see pic below). I thought that was pretty cool.
  • My Boss - for singing a solo that was so loud the entire office heard it. Not too mention she danced a jig. It was hilarious.
  • Ayzha & Tiago - for singing the "you live in a zoo" version of Happy Birthday to me.
  • Jilly Bean & Sarah - for leaving me birthday messages.
  • Mom & Dad - for paying for my ticket to get to Jilly Bean's wedding.
  • Angela, Gager, & Kyah - for singing to me and giving me birthday love.
  • Huntskys and Jordache - for playing video games with me on my birthday.
  • Randawg & Little Trippy - for telling me Happy Birthday.
  • Shimm Doctor, Randitty, & Kelli - for emailing birthday wishes to me.
  • Brian & Jenny - for calling me and telling me how hot I still am.
  • The Bowens - for singing the loudest and most energetic birthday song I have ever heard in my life.
  • Angie - for getting me huge pics of my favorite kids. I complained that the pics I got were mini sized so Angie took care of it. Check out the top of my fridge in the pics below and then compare with the bottom of my fridge.
  • Ben - for being the last to call at 11:15 pm to tell me Happy Birthday. I guess he has an excuse because he decided to steal my day for his anniversary.
Top of the fridge sexy people.
My little buddies.
Hard to see, but it is the $5.00 bill awesomely folded.

Anniversary Video

Put together a little video of the awesome day I spent with the love of my life. More still pictures are posted below. Thanks for a day of too much perfection Mikey.

6-Year Anniversary

Mike and I celebrated six years of marriage yesterday. Mike had our whole day planned out so first we drove to San Simeon on the coast to check out Hearst Castle. The sky was clear, the sun was shining and it was absolutely gorgeous. William Randolph Hearst built a castle that was very heavily influenced by Eurepean architecture. The tour was phenomenal. Then, we took a scenic drive to the beach. Later, we saw a Bubble Gum Alley in San Luis Obispo. That's right, an entire alley filled with chewing gum on the walls. And finally, we ate dinner at a place called Apple Valley.

One of the pools. It was 10 feet deep all over and had 24-karat gold tiles lining the walls and bottom of the pool. There was a tennis court on top of it.
Our favorite part of the tour...the Neptune Pool. Here the marble statues are depticting the birth of Venus the Goddess of Love.

Another view of the Neptune Pool.

The Dining Room. Every candleholder is pure silver.

One of the guest houses.

The entrance to the main house or La Casa Grande as Hearst called it.

Statues and fountains were all over the castle grounds.

The ocean view from the castle.

Mike in the Bubble Gum Alley. This is only one tiny section of the alley.
